Start Location The Devonshire Arms Country Hotel Bolton Abbey BD23 6AJ

Route: We start from the Devonshire Arms Country Hotel in Bolton Abbey, cruise on through Barden Towers, Skyredale, Stumpcross, Greenhow, Pateley Bridge, Gouthwaite Reservoir, Ramsgill, Leighton Reservoir, Masham to Jervaulx Abbey. On our return journey the tour takes in Middleham Castle, Coverdale, Kettlewell, Kilnsey and Burnsall before heading back at the Devonshire Arms.

The journey to & from the romantic cloisters is an awe inspiring trip through amazing countryside and picturesque hamlets, villages and reservoirs.. Definitely not to be missed!

We have been granted special permission to allow us to cruise through the grounds, following tree lined avenue to the heart of the ruins. Once within the peaceful cloisters a specially prepared Afternoon Tea picnic hamper supplied by Jervaulx Tearooms is enjoyed whilst sitting within the Abbey's ruins. A most tranquil and romantic experience.

 

The award winning Afternoon Tea hamper are supplied by Gayle and Anna owners of Jervaulx Abbey Tearooms and taken late afternoon in the heart of the ruins of the privately owned Jervaulx Abbey. A rare privilege granted to Yorkshire Trike Tours by the owners, the Burdon family.

Start Location The White Bear Hotel Masham HG4 4EN

Route: Masham, Middleham Castle, driving the full length of Coverdale passing through Carlton, Gammersgill, Horsehouse before our steep desent into Kettlewell, (where the fantastic Calendar Girls film was made), Kilnsey Crag, Grassington, Stumpcross Cavens, Greenhow, Pateley Bridge, Gouthwaite Reservoir, Ramsgill, Leighton Reservoir finishing back to Masham.

 

Judith's Review: Every tour we do we are convinced we have found the best one ever- then we found this tour, and you've guessed it, we found the best one ever!! A cruise through Nidderdale is a great start and then over Masham Moor into Wensleydale taking in some stunning scenery, both moorland and softer lower dale views. At Middleham,the start of Coverdale, be prepared to be breathless at the stunning vistas. The ride through this dale is, as yet, unparalleled on our tours and is definitely the one for those who love to take their cameras to capture the memories.

Route: Leaving Masham, cruising through Wensleydale to West Witton, Aysgarth, Bainbridge, Hawes, up and over the famous Buttertubs Pass, dropping down into Muker, driving the full length of the stunningly gorgeous Swaledale to Reeth, Castle Bolton, Leyburn, Middleham, Jervaulx Abbey, Masham.

YTT13 Lunch at the Creamery

Tour Duration 4 hours inc lunch & shopping at Wensleydale Creamery

Price per Tour £400.00 inc £40 table allowance for lunch.

Start Location The Devonshire Arms Country Hotel Bolton Abbey BD23 6AJ

Route: Bolton Abbey, Gargrave, Settle, Ribblehead Viaduct, Hawes, Gayle, Wensleydale Creamery, Oughtershaw, Buckden, Kettlewell, Threshfield, Cracoe and back to the Devonshire Arms.

 

Judith's Review: A swift escape along route A59 then the A65 to Settle, via several villages on the way.This route follows the canal and there are views galore, which way to look? Then the road takes you through Ribblesdale. Horton in Ribblesdale is almost a surprise as it pops up, just before encountering the awesome viaduct. Arriving in Hawes and the famous Wensleydale Cheese Factory there is a stop for light lunch and time to taste, and hopefully purchase, some of they amazing cheeses. Onwards & upwards over Cam Fell before dropping down into yet another stunning Dale; this time the beautiful Wharferdale. We then follow the early stages of the River Wharfe on this gorgeous landscape drive back to Bolton Abbey.
